Jess Leonetti and Brian Anderson claim the 2016 Invitational Crown.

It came down to the final hole of the two-day event and a nerve-wrecking 6-foot par putt, but new Invitational Golf Tournament champions Jess Leonetti and Brian Anderson came out on top. Shooting a tournament record 66-67-133 (11-under par), Leonetti and Anderson held off Keith and Alex Remizowski, who finished a shot behind at 134 (-10), for the title.

Leonnetti and Anderson celebrated the victory with smiles on their faces and the tradition of signing the TGC flag. Their victory was well earned, as the battle with the Remizowskis was a roller coaster affair, which featured the duo taking a one-shot lead after a birdie on the par 3, 15th hole. However, they gave the lead right back when the Remizowskis birdied the tough par 5, 16th hole. After halving the 17th hole, both Remizowski brothers were forced to punch out from under trees, as their drives on the 18th hole ran past the fairway. Anderson set himself up with a 20-foot birdie putt, which ran six feet past the hole, but was able to make the comeback putt to cement the first time win at TGC. Matt Waston and Bryce Zdyb finished third overall at 2-under par. In the 2nd flight, Mike Mahoney and John Conway took home the two-day crown edging Alex Brown and Alex Nofer. The third flight was won by Joe Patarino and Jared Smith, while the father-and-son duo of Chris and Colin Brown won the 4th flight. 32 teams competed in this year's event, which featured a 2-person scramble in round one and a two-person best ball in round two.
